Five years building software. And I still enjoy every bit of it.

I'm Juan Carlos, a full stack developer. My first contact with programming was an Arduino my dad brought home. I started with the basics: blink an LED on and off. Sounds small, but it got me — I had written a few lines and something in the real world obeyed. That's when it clicked, everything that could be built from this. Years later I joined Luby as an intern in 2021, while studying Systems Analysis at FIAP, and made it to mid-level in two years. What drives me is still the same thing as that LED: writing something from scratch and watching it work in someone's hands.

Today I work as a Full Stack developer at Crefisa, on critical fintech systems — KYC, digital signature, and loan processing. I enjoy the backend most when the problem is real architecture: distributed systems, caching, microservices, and so on. My stack is React, Next.js, NestJS, TypeScript, Postgres, and AWS — and I've been digging into Java and senior-level architecture out of both interest and strategy.

I have a habit of building things outside of work. In 2025 I co-founded Vain, a scheduling SaaS that got paying customers before I shut it down due to operational constraints. I've also built a stock market analysis platform, a live telemetry tool for Assetto Corsa in Python, and a few ideas still in the oven. Outside of code, what keeps me busy is motorsport — real and virtual —, story-driven games, and the financial market.

Right now I'm focused on growing as an engineer: studying distributed systems, writing about what I learn, and aiming for a position where the problems are bigger. Long term, I carry one goal: build software at a product company I genuinely admire. This site is where I document the path to get there.
